People are involved in a number of activities with an aim of maintaining good health. Running is one such activity. Though it is a tedious activity, running has a number of benefits to the well being of the person.

It is widely known that physical activities improve ones health. Running is no exception. While running, the lungs are strengthened. This enables it to perform its functions better. In addition, running improves the immune system. The immune cells in the body circulate faster when running. However, running for a long period is not equally good to the person. It results in the body releasing certain hormones that could weaken the immune system.

Running helps reduce the chance of contracting certain diseases. Over the years, it has been noted that those people who run regularly tend to get sick less. During the exercise, the heart pumps blood at a faster rate compared to when a person is at rest. This makes the blood vessels more elastic, improving the heart's performance. Thus, it reduces chances of having an heart attack.

A number of people run with the aim of losing weight or to maintain their weight and its important they have the correct Running Shoes. Compared to other activities, such as walking, running burns a lot of calories.
