That year's festival is usually hosted by jazz vocalist Rondi Charleston, storyteller by him and also drummer Terri Lyne Carrington with Jhon Mcakey. The opening live concert features an all-star quintet comprised of Bridgewater, Carrington, pianist Geri Allen, bassist Esperanza Spalding, singer songwriter Jenny fresh and saxophonist Leeway Kelly, each a success of multiple honors in her field.
